Four questions to validate and start any business

Executive overview

Most aspiring founders waste time on optics — domains, opinions, branding — before testing whether anyone will pay. This four-question framework cuts straight to what matters: a clear goal, a differentiated angle, early revenue, and a repeatable habit.

Validate the business this week, not this year.

The four questions

  1. Specific goal — pick one measurable target for the year (e.g. $5,000/month, X subscribers). No vague ambitions.
  2. Unique angle — identify what no one else is offering. If you haven't heard of it, the market is likely still open.
  3. Make money this week — constraint forces focus. Don't grow an audience and hope they pay later; test willingness to pay now.
  4. One weekly habit — treat a single growth action (post, podcast, referral ask) like brushing teeth. Do it every week without exception.
