How to build and use the EOS Issues List
Executive overview
Most teams avoid naming uncomfortable problems, leaving "elephants in the room" to fester. The EOS Issues List gives teams a structured way to surface, capture, and resolve anything slowing the business down.
An issue is anything that slows you down, blocks progress, or demands attention — including ideas and opportunities.
What counts as an issue
- Obstacles or barriers to execution
- Things that frustrate or slow down the team
- Ideas worth investigating
- Opportunities requiring a decision
- Anything demanding attention but not yet addressed
Using the Issues List
- Name issues openly — visibility is the first step to resolution
- A healthy Issues List signals a company that is growing and evolving
- Open, productive communication depends on making the implicit explicit
- The list illuminates problems teams typically avoid discussing
