Building $10,000 software MVPs with AI in under an hour
Executive overview
Most software agencies require a team of three to four people and six weeks to deliver an MVP. One person with AI can now replicate that output in under an hour, without being a senior engineer.
The model: partner with niche creators who have distribution and domain expertise, then use Claude Code to automate the full delivery workflow — PRD generation, UI design, core functionality, and hosting.
Creators bring the problem, audience, and distribution; you bring the AI workflow and execution.
The creator partnership model
- Target educational creators in a specific niche (finance, fitness, video editing, e-commerce)
- Offer to build software their audience would use — almost no one is pitching this
- Large creators do read DMs; the gap is that few people offer software, not that they're unreachable
- Three deal structures: monthly fee ($2k–$6k), pure equity, or hybrid (smaller fee plus equity stake)
- Hybrid is strongest: provides cash flow while retaining upside if the app scales
- Creators bring unfair advantages: they understand the problem, have built-in distribution, and can sponsor peer channels for fast growth
Phase 1: Automated PRD generation
- Record the client discovery call with an AI note-taker (e.g. Fellow)
- Use Zapier to pipe the transcript automatically to Claude with a system prompt defining the PRD format
- Claude outputs a build-ready PRD as a Markdown file, saved to a named Google Drive folder
- Embed your preferred tech stack into the PRD prompt so every future project inherits the same stack
- Result: a structured product requirement document generated immediately after every client call, with no manual writing
Phase 2: UI design with brand kit and component library
- Upload the PRD to Claude Code and request a local preview — Claude scaffolds the initial app in minutes
- Default AI-built apps feel generic; two assets fix this: a brand kit and a component library
- Brand kit: download a brand guidelines template from Canva and export as PDF
- Component library: find a free Figma library that matches the desired aesthetic and paste the link into Claude
- Prompt Claude to redesign the app using both — the output shifts from prototype to polished product
- Taste and design judgment are the differentiator; AI handles execution
Phase 3: Core functionality
- Payments: use a pre-built payments SDK (e.g. Whop) to embed checkout, pay-ins, and pay-outs — avoids building payment infrastructure from scratch
- Chat/DM system: embed a pre-built messaging component rather than coding real-time delivery, notifications, and moderation yourself
- AI coding tools have real limits on complex infrastructure — the smart move is plugging in pre-built components, not building everything from zero
- Onboarding: reference Mobbin to study top apps' account creation flows, then prompt Claude to mirror the structure
- Authentication: set up OAuth (e.g. Whop OAuth) by following the steps Claude provides and pasting in keys
Database and hosting
- Use Supabase for the database; prompt Claude to set up the schema (users, seller profiles, listings, purchases, categories)
- Claude can use the browser extension to execute setup steps directly if you get stuck
- Host on Vercel: connect the CLI, create the project, add a custom domain, and verify — the app goes live
- Local host links are not shareable; hosting is what moves the app from your machine to the internet
The compounding advantage
- Once accounts and stack are configured on the first project, Claude reuses the same design style and infrastructure on every future project
- Embedding the stack into the Zapier PRD prompt means new builds inherit it automatically
- One person can now deliver what previously required a full agency team, compressing both time and headcount costs
- Pairing this workflow with creators who have existing distribution means building software with built-in demand from day one
