Two plagues: protecting your character in a crisis

Every crisis brings two infections: one that threatens your body, one that threatens your character. Marcus Aurelius faced this during the Antonine Plague and wrote about it in Meditations. Selfishness, panic, cowardice, and skewed values can outlast the physical disease.

• The first plague kills people; the second kills character
