One-sentence vision statements don't work. They can't convey enough detail for employees to recreate what the CEO sees.

  • Also capture: what customers are saying, what media is writing, what employees feel when they walk in
  • Don't solve for how it happens — describe what you see, not the plan
  • Compile rough notes into a first draft; use a professional writer to polish
